Salt Waves
Against the horizon where the breeze is free
Pondering the austerity of
Condemning someone
Against their will
For all they have done and have done
to you
and all you stand for.
Although it may be nothing more than
the whistling of the wind, in reality.
You wonder
What could drive such anger and hate in a being
so capable of love
kindess
forgiveness.
When your eyes wander into the roll of the wave
And wish that was your power-
to engulf
and drown
someone so mercilessly.
That in that same power you could swash someone
with love and care and tenderness
like the magnitude of your feelings
the paradox.
Anger that piles easily like wet sand
but when dry falls apart
crumbling, is
pointless- it is the quality we must recognise in ourselves.
We are the salt breeze.
Powerful and powerless.
We weigh the austerity with our own discretion
and decide.
We make decisions.
We make mistakes.

In time I've learnt, I think, that anger gets me no where- rather, it's the bitter taste of lingering care that tears me apart the most.
