Winter
6 Degrees.
You shower in the blissfully hot water and watch the steam rise from your skin.
It curls up in the bright morning and curls at the ceiling,
Licks the cold
And enthrals you.

Winter. Mint. Hot Chocolate. Jackets. Cold toes. Fluffy socks.
"They can't take that away from me."
My day started at 4am because the flight was pretty much grossly early, and the turbulence was a right nightmare, honestly. But t'was a good flight, in all honesty - I enjoyed myself and the landing was very smooth, kudos to the pilots and their mega-amazing ability to keep the plane in manual control during landing. It's day two morning as of now, but I thought I'd leave whoever reads this with something to go over.
Arrived, met my cousin, dropped off the luggage at my home for the next 8 days and headed out to a cafe (Australia has one hell of an amazing cafe culture- if you think those in Singapore are way too numerous I tell you you'll be in perth exploring cafes forever.) called fio...fio something but the angel hair crab pasta was fantastic- much more outstanding than my beef ravioli, although I'm rather sure I can replicate the recipe next week when I'm home- I have unposted pictures of their cakes too, and sweets- very yummy. The picture in the bottom corner is of a proper chai? I mean the tea thats soaked in steamed milk- not the syrup we get. Or the tea that's mixed with milk. I mean tea, in hot milk. It's wonderful, especially when it's cold.
Made a trip to the supermarket (Woolsworth's, if thats how you spell it, or something) and I beelined to the Peppermint milk by Masters and then ran (practically) to the baking section. If you thought it was hard to pick what box cake to make in Singapore, Aussie will blow you away obviously- and I picked up two bottles of the accursed Mint extract I can never seem to find, ever, at home. And it's so cheap it hurts my feelings. But they have macaron kits and I'm really hoping to bring back a whole bunch of things, including the push cake thingy (Cake....I don't know what it is but it's not a cake pop. I guess those who are lucky will see ombre cakes in their future!) I'm quite excited because it's so painfully cheap here? I feel like shipping cartons of things home...or staying here permanently. After that, went home and essentially sat in front of the TV screaming while watching the Wallabies (Australia) play against France (RUGBY!). I don't know the ending but I'm hoping to catch the All Blacks play on TV at least. (I have also resolved to get jumpers/hoodies.) T'was nice and cold, had Basil Rice (not the way you think it is!) At a vietnamese/Thai place. So funny, but the ingredients are so fresh and good and warm.
Spent the rest of the evening NOT doing work (goodbye Exams) and playing minecraft and talking to F and S. This trip, I'm lucky to have my own room! Which is nice, although it's a Queen mattress on the floor its so comfy and quiet- no hospital noises no cars- It's really good resting time for me. Today I believe I'm headed up to Frio and some place that starts with C that escapes me.
Until I return, then!
xx
